IN THE NEWS THIS WEEK: Jade Tunchy risks losing lucrative partnerships after Uber Eats Instagram rant

The public fallout continues for Sydney influencer Jade Tuncdoruk, who now risks losing thousands of dollars in lucrative partnerships and sponsorships with big name brands after going viral last week for all the wrong reasons.

Tuncdoruk, who is signed to influencer agency Maxconnectors, regularly promotes luxury brands like Prada, Louis Vuitton and Yves Saint Laurent on social media, however it’s unclear whether these partnerships will continue.

Branding expert, Nicole Reaney, of InsideOut PR said brands may feel pressured to cut ties with influencers when scandals arise.

“Brands are held responsible for the relationships they maintain. It is certainly dangerous territory for agencies and brands to stand by influencers who demonstrate attitudes and behaviours that do not align with their own values,” said Reaney.

“Influencers are exactly that, they are influential and any positive or negative reactions will reflect on brands associated with the individual.

More recently, she was accused of pressuring a small business into giving her a refund by blasting them on social media.

In an Instagram post, the business accused Tuncdoruk of entitled behaviour by trying to “bypass” the rules when she ignored the terms and conditions.
