IN THE NEWS THIS WEEK: Another Scandal Rocks the Royals

Love them or loathe them, there is no avoiding news regarding the Royal Family. This week was no different, after the release of the fourth season of the critically acclaimed The Crown left Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, in a spot of bother!

The most anticipated season of the popular Netflix series gives viewers an up close and personal look at the disaster that was the marriage between Prince Charles and Princess Diana – in particular, an insight into the Duke of Cornwall’s alleged affair with his now wife, Camilla Parker Bowles. In an iconic 1995 interview Diana stated, “there were always three of us in this marriage which left it a bit overcrowded,” – and now it seems the whole world has some proof.  Die-hard Royal Family fans look away now!

As the season continues, the inner turmoil Princess Diana suffered as a result of her involvement with the Royals is laid bare, with intense scenes depicting the late princesses personal issues, in particular her decade long battle with bulimia.

Although leading members of the Royal Family, including Prince William, have come to Prince Charles defence, even the Queens’ former press secretary Dickie Arbiter described the characters as “wooden”. This is no doubt a bad spot of publicity for the Royals. Prince Charles has always insisted the alleged affair came about following his marriage breakdown, however the new season of The Crown seems to veer from the truth.

From the scandal that was Prince Andrews involvement with Jeffrey Epstein, to the Royal upset that was Megxit, there is no question that the Windsors are the most watched family in the world. Some may argue they are humans too whom like others make mistakes, however as a representative of the United Kingdom, there is unfortunately an image to uphold and from a PR perspective. This is something the pair will need to work hard on to shake within the media.

Now excuse me as I go to see what all the fuss is about!
